Individual Therapy & Assessment

People seek therapy or psychological assessment for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, or a major life transition. You may also simply feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why certain patterns keep showing up in your life.

While therapy offers a space to explore these difficulties and work toward meaningful change, psychological assessment can help you better understand your experiences, clarify potential diagnoses, and identify appropriate supports or treatment options.

Why seek therapy or assessment?

Areas of Focus

Anxiety & mood

Rebuilding trust following infidelity, breaches of trust, or other experiences that have affected the relationship

Identity, sexuality & life transitions

Questions related to identity, sexuality, relationships, major changes, and understanding yourself during periods of transition.

Relationships & interpersonal difficulties

Communication, boundaries, attachment, recurring relationship patterns, and difficulties developing or maintaining meaningful connections.

Trauma & difficult experiences

PTSD, traumatic experiences, and events from the past that continue to affect how you feel, think, or relate to others.

Personal growth & self-understanding

Exploring patterns in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, or behaviour even when there is no specific diagnosis or crisis bringing you to therapy.

A collaborative approach

I work collaboratively with adults to understand not only the difficulties they are experiencing, but also the experiences, relationships, behaviours, beliefs, and circumstances that may be contributing to them. Together, we develop a shared understanding of what is happening and identify meaningful goals for therapy.

My approach is integrative and evidence-based. Depending on your needs, our work may draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and other evidence-based approaches. Therapy may involve developing practical strategies for current difficulties while also exploring emotional and relationship patterns, earlier experiences, and the broader context of your life.

Above all, I aim to create a space grounded in trust, respect, curiosity, and openness, where we can develop an approach that makes sense for you rather than trying to fit you into a one-size-fits-all model.
